Weather Policy
FCA will NOT cancel practice if Rochester Area Public Schools Cancel due to snow or ice conditions. Since the concerns with kids having to walk/wait outside for buses in the cold do not exist in our cases practices will still be held unless otherwise notified by email from FCA Sports Staff.
If inclement weather arises and would affect Saturday games, FCA Sports Staff will monitor the weather conditions and determine the safety of road travel. In the event of needing to cancel, all participants will be notified via email by 7am Saturday. Please be sure to check your email prior to leaving for your scheduled game. If there is no email about the league cancelling, then the game(s) will be played as scheduled. We understand that some families travel from outside of Rochester and may choose not to attend due to your local road conditions regardless of the league’s decision.
League Staff
Practices and games are coached by volunteer parents as well as college and high school athletes.
Cancelation policy
Participants who cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made after the registration deadline will be refunded minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee.
Applause-Only League
At FCA Flag Football, we are committed to creating a positive, Christ-centered environment where athletes can compete, grow, and have fun while being encouraged by coaches, teammates, officials, and fans.
Here’s what that means for our league culture:
Positive Sidelines
We encourage enthusiastic cheering and support for athletes from both teams.
Spectators are expected to:
- Encourage players positively
- Applaud good effort and sportsmanship
- Respect coaches and officials
- Help create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for every family
To maintain a positive sideline environment, we ask spectators to avoid:
- Booing or jeering
- Arguing with officials
- Negative comments toward players, coaches, or other fans
- Disruptive sideline behavior
Respectful Coaching
FCA coaches are role models and are expected to lead with encouragement, integrity, and respect.
Coaches should:
- Encourage and develop athletes positively
- Communicate respectfully with officials and site coordinators
- Model Christ-like sportsmanship
- Help athletes compete with character and humility
Team Sportsmanship
We believe competition and encouragement can exist together.
Athletes and teams are encouraged to:
- Celebrate effort and improvement
- Recognize great plays from both teams
- Show sportsmanship before, during, and after games
- Support teammates and opponents with respect
Our Goal
We believe athletics should help build:
- Confidence
- Character
- Respect
- Community
- Faith
Thank you for helping us create a league culture that honors God and encourages every athlete.
“The way we compete matters just as much as the outcome.”
