FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Rochester Area FCA Youth Flag Football League is for boys and girls in grades 1–8 (Fall 2026) who want to develop their football skills, grow through teamwork, and build strong character. Weather Policy
FCA Sports League activities will be held in a variety of weather conditions, including colder temperatures, rain, and snow. Because our schedule and field availability do not allow for make-up practices or games, we will make every effort to play as scheduled whenever conditions are safe.
In the event of severe or unsafe weather, FCA Sports League staff will make the decision regarding cancellations. Families will be notified by email by 4:00 PM if flag football activities are canceled. Please do not contact coaches or league staff asking if practices or games will be canceled prior to that time, as weather and field conditions are continually being evaluated throughout the day.
Coaches are not permitted to cancel practices or games independently. All cancellation decisions will be communicated directly by FCA Sports League staff.
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather by wearing layers, warm clothing, rain gear, and other weather-appropriate attire as needed.
League Staff
Practices and games are coached by volunteer parents as well as college and high school athletes.
Cancelation policy
Participants who cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made after the registration deadline will be refunded minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee.
Applause-Only League
At FCA Flag Football, we are committed to creating a positive, Christ-centered environment where athletes can compete, grow, and have fun while being encouraged by coaches, teammates, officials, and fans.
Here’s what that means for our league culture:
Positive Sidelines
We encourage enthusiastic cheering and support for athletes from both teams.
Spectators are expected to:
- Encourage players positively
- Applaud good effort and sportsmanship
- Respect coaches and officials
- Help create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for every family
To maintain a positive sideline environment, we ask spectators to avoid:
- Booing or jeering
- Arguing with officials
- Negative comments toward players, coaches, or other fans
- Disruptive sideline behavior
Respectful Coaching
FCA coaches are role models and are expected to lead with encouragement, integrity, and respect.
Coaches should:
- Encourage and develop athletes positively
- Communicate respectfully with officials and site coordinators
- Model Christ-like sportsmanship
- Help athletes compete with character and humility
Team Sportsmanship
We believe competition and encouragement can exist together.
Athletes and teams are encouraged to:
- Celebrate effort and improvement
- Recognize great plays from both teams
- Show sportsmanship before, during, and after games
- Support teammates and opponents with respect
Our Goal
We believe athletics should help build:
- Confidence
- Character
- Respect
- Community
- Faith
Thank you for helping us create a league culture that honors God and encourages every athlete.
“The way we compete matters just as much as the outcome.”
